Videos under 200MB
Compression happens entirely in your browser using WebAssembly. Your video file is never uploaded or transmitted to our servers — it's processed locally on your device and never leaves it.
Videos over 200MB (Pro / server-side compression)
Larger files are uploaded to our compression server to be processed. Both the original upload and the compressed result are stored temporarily and automatically deleted from our server within a few hours of processing. We do not view, share, or use uploaded video content for any purpose other than compressing and returning it to you.
Accounts
The compression tool itself needs no account — the free tier works without signing up. Creating an account (for Basic, Pro, or Premium) stores your name, email, and a bcrypt-hashed password; we never store your password in plain text and never have access to the original.
Billing
Paid plans are billed through Lemon Squeezy, who act as merchant of record and handle all card processing, taxes, and invoices — we never see or store your card details. We keep a record of your subscription status and renewal date so your account page can show it accurately.
Activity & analytics
We log basic product events — sign-ups, logins, checkout attempts, and completed compressions — with a timestamp and IP address, so we can operate the service and understand aggregate usage. This never includes the contents of any video you compress, and compression events from the free, no-signup tool aren't linked to a name or email.
